LS COMMUNICATION CENTER.
According to the HOG file timestamp this level is from 1998.
I'm aware of six levels named LS (...something...).
IMHO, only two of them are fun to play, this is one.
There are are no credits in any of the MN2 files and there are no text files in annex. Probably all these levels have the the same author but it's not possibile to tell for sure.
LS should stand for Limefrost Spiral and the author's nick could be Diamond Cutter XS.
This level is designed in a cursory manner: some textures are misaligned, one floor has zero thickness, hostages are poorly positioned. Despite this, it is definitely an entertaining D2 level, quite challenging if played at ACE difficulty.
Played with D2X-rebirth (build Jan 2024) and D2 DOS v1.2 (with DOSBox).

Bots are standard (D2 and D1). There is no Full Map. There is no Gauss. Usually a Gauss is released by the first Bulk Destroyer, but not here. Also, no Earthshakers.
It's intricate, with false walls, secret passages, barriers, force fields, switches and triggers. Many powerups are hidden inside cubicles and behind false walls, others are released by bots.
With a simple trick, the player can grab the red key without struggling against hordes of bots, but soon after it is possible to end up locked between barriers and force fields. Remedy: just wait before hitting the switch that opens the last grid. Savegame suggested.
After the Reactor (there is no boss), the exit tunnel is located behind a separate red door.
