THE BORG CUBE

Level Name: The Borg Cube
Level Version: v1.47
Editor: Devil v0.97

COMMENTS

Hello, my name is Douglas M. James ([email protected]), and this
is my first of hopefully many interesting and challenging levels.

Basically, this level goes like this. First, it is a LARGE cube design,
formed from 26 small round rooms (balls) connected by corridors. In the
center is a large square room with three mini bosses inside. All around
you are small gopher robots who drop mines, run away, and generally be a
real pain in the butt. Controlling these are supervisor robots who are
  located around in strategic spots.

This level is specifically designed for multi-player play, and as such
has every weapon contained within. These weapons can be found in each
corner ball of the cube, behind a secret door in one of the three dead
end corridors. Also, energy pits are located around the middle of the
cube, at the end of dead end corridors. The reactor is at the very top
middle of the cube, and the exit is right across from it at the very
bottom (ie: you must pass through the large square room in the center
of the cube to get to the exit).

Those are the only hints I will give. PS: The mega bombs and plasma
cannons are well hidden and are not located in the corners of the cube
  or behind secret doors.

PLAY NOTES

Because of the large number of robots and items in this level,
performance does become an issue. I designed this level on a
486-40 and it does run well, although I usually have to run on medium
detail and it is by no means smooth, but it isn't unplayable. If
performance becomes an issue during major multi-player games, I suggest
going to anarchy mode, and not playing robo-anarchy. Of course, this
detracts from the level. C'est la vie.

I can't say how quickly I will respond, but I will do my best.

THANKS

I think major thanks for this level should go to Achim, who
designed and built THE BEST EDITOR I have ever seen (especially when
it is pre-version 1). If you do not have Devil, get it now.

And obviously, thanks to the makers of Descent, who obviously got
their shit together and created a truly awesome game (one which I have
  as yet not even finished).
